The Midnight Special DVD Set Review

THE MIDNIGHT SPECIAL was the first of its kind. The most popular artists of the day, from rock, pop and soul, shared the stage performing their hits LIVE on late-night television - and right in your living room. This 11-DVD collection, never before available at retail, contains almost ten hours of incredible performances, 130 songs, PLUS almost five hours of bonus features including brand new interviews and exclusive featurettes highlighting the history and the legacy of this pioneering TV show. Performances include AC/DC, Aerosmith, Alice Cooper, Steely Dan, ELO, Heart, The Hollies, The Kinks & Van Morrison; stand up comedy from George Carlin, Billy Crystal, Steve Martin, Richard Pryor and many more.

We received The Midnight Special DVD Set at no cost in exchange for an honest review.

Our Review

My husband and myself both remember this show from when we were younger. I couldn't wait to get this set. The box and presentation of the discs is great, it makes it easy to store and show off. The artists and performances in this collection are very recognizable, even though the artists look much younger my sons can even name some of them like Aerosmith, AC/DC and Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers. There is a mixture of performances in this collection, music and comedy. The live performances are amazing and even my youngest enjoys them and wants to watch over and over.

This is an amazing stroll down memory lane for anyone who grew up loving the music from this era, and a great discovery for those who want to expose their kids to something other than rap and pop.

This set arrived in perfect condition and all the discs work with no issues. We could not be happier with this set from Time Life!
