Artisan Handloomed Turkish Towel Review

A pestemal or peshtamal (pesh-te-mahl) is an authentic Turkish towel. It is flat-woven with a hand-tied fringe, generally made with Turkish cotton. Pestemal are colorful, fast drying, absorbent and an essential element of the Turkish bath experience. Pestemal are used as towels, decorative throws and packable travel towels.

I received an Artisan Handloomed Turkish Towel in green at no cost in exchange for an honest review.

My Review

I am used to using just plain old terry cloth towels, so I was excited to try this Turkish towel and see what the difference was. I am very impressed with the lightweight fabric of this towel. It's thin and lightweight, so I wasn't sure how it could be as absorbent as a regular bath towel. I was quite happy with this towel. It's absorbent, dries quickly, and folds a lot smaller than a regular towel, so it's easier to take along when we go to the springs or beach. This towel is hand loomed, but that doesn't make it fragile in any way. This is a sturdy towel that will last through many many uses.
