Veggie Tales Merry Larry and the True Light of Christmas Review and Giveaway

This installment includes some fun and familiar faces and voices such as reality star Si Robertson of Duck Commander as a brand new character, Silas the wise okra, as well as an all-new song titled “Light of Christmas” performed by Owl City and TobyMac!

Starring all-time favorites Larry the Cucumber as Merry Larry the mall elf and Bob the Tomato as Phillip Fleagle the lights display extraordinaire, the film tells a heartwarming tale centrally themed around compassion for others and the true meaning of Christmas.

Our Review

Veggie Tales have been around for many years and they always have such a happy and hopeful message. I love that my boys love Veggie Tales.  I've noticed my kids have tended to get wrapped up in the gifting part of Christmas, and not the true meaning. This DVD is perfect for the family to sit down and watch together. The characters are great and the animations are bright and colorful. My boys are obsessed with Duck Dynasty, so they were thrilled to learn that Uncle Si was the voice of Silas. We all enjoyed this DVD from start to finish, the message is presented in a great way, and I think my kids really got a great lesson about Chrstmas from this. This will stay in our collection for years to come. Veggie Tales gets a big 5/5 from us!

Check out the trailer for this wonderful Christmas movie!

In the Spirit of the holidays and in keeping with its core mission, VeggieTales is working with Operation Christmas Child, a global children’s project of Samaritan’s Purse. This year, Bob and Larry are official spokes-vegetables to encourage families to join in the collection of millions of shoebox gifts and to share God’s love with children in need.

More information about VeggieTales’ holiday collaboration with Operation Christmas Child will be available on the DVD as a bonus feature. Additionally, Si Robertson fans will enjoy an insider’s look at the development of Silas with a behind-the-scenes video feature. Other extras include a special Owl City and TobyMac lyric video and the newest Silly Song with Larry, “Wrapped Myself Up for Christmas.”
