Pimsleur Levine sought to create a program that would delight and teach young children a foreign language at the same time. Working with leading neuroscientist Dr. April Benasich, educators and language experts, she spent several years developing the Little Pim language program. Not only is it the first comprehensive at home program, it can be used effectively by parents even if they don’t speak a foreign language.
I received one of the Little Pim Discovery Sets Spanish to review with my boys in exchange for my honest opinion.
LIttle Pim offers foreign language sets in 11 different languages. They have lessons available in:
We got the Spanish for my boys. It included 3 dvd’s, Eating and Drinking, Wake Up Smiling, and Playtime, and a plush Little Pim toy. Each dvd has 7 episodes on it. The boys loved watching these and learning new words. They are learning every day things like eating, playing counting, colors and so on, so it’s interesting and engaging for them. It makes sense for them as they are learning words that they can use many times a day. We have never tried learning another language before so i was wondering how easy or hard this was going to be. It was very easy! The dvd’s are geared towards ages 0-6 but my 8 year old was very into these as well. Pim is sweet, funny and informative and really catches the kid’s attention. I’m very happy with this set and would definitely try some other languages from Little Pim!
