What is Grounding or Earthing?

Grounding, or Earthing, is the practice of regularly connecting oneself to the Earth. When the body comes into direct electrical contact with the Earth, the body promptly establishes electrical equilibrium with the ground. People who make grounding a habit say they sleep better, feel better, and have more energy. Think of it as obtaining gentle energy in the form of free electrons from the Earth.

My Review
If you follow my blog regularly you know that I am a shoe hound. I love shoes. However, no matter how cute a shoe may look they don’t always mesh well with my super sensitive feet and legs. We recently moved to Florida so all I have been wearing is sandals and flip flops. The thin rubber flip flops, while light and non constricting, are not always comfortable or good for my poor feet. When I was offered the chance to review a pair of Groundals I was intrigued by this Grounding/Earthing concept. I have chronic pain and my biggest problem areas are my feet, legs and lower back. I was really excited to get these and start wearing them and see if I noticed a difference.

The first thing I noticed was that these are shaped differently then plain old flip flops and they have these awesome little ridges that keep your feet from slipping. I have actually sprained an ankle from my feet slipping in flip flops in the past, no lie lol. The fit is snug and secure, but not constricting or tight. These have a little more weight to them then other flip flops I’ve worn so that took me a day or two to get used to. I noticed that I was actually making more contact with the ground with these and after the first day or two I would almost forget I had them on, that’s how comfortable they were.

I wore these to a company picnic that my husbands work had. We were walking around ALL DAY. Normally that would really kill my feet and I would be a wreck by the end of the day. Wearing the Groundals definitely helped with the pain and fatigue! I was still hurting a bit at the end of the day, but it wasn’t nearly what I would have usually experienced after a day like that.

I’m fascinated by this whole Grounding/Earthing thing. I LOVE these shoes! They are extremely fashionable and go with EVERYTHING. I give these shoes a huge 5/5 and I recommend everyone getting a pair!!
