Based in Chicago, Illinois, World Book is an industry leader in the production of award-winning encyclopedias, reference sources, and digital products for the home and schools.

I got the chance to review 2 great books from World Book's Bright Connections Kids Learning Package

Our Review

I was very excited when I got the chance to pick a book from World Book for my boys to review. Then when they were gracious enough to send two, that was a good day. My 7 year old is a huge reader, he reads well above his grade level and loves anything that teaches him new stuff. Everything is interesting to him, he's like a sponge. My 5 year old doesn't read well yet but loves pictures and loves to read with his big brother. These books were a huge hit!

The Knights & Castles book is full of colorful pictures and tons of information about the knights and castles of medieval times. It talks about what life was like then for the knights, royalty and peasants. My 7 year old has had this book in his book bag for a week now taking it back and forth to school to show his friends. He loves the book and has given me a wish list of more books he wants off the website. Did I mention he's extremely computer savvy too? lol

Meet the Bugs was also a big hit for both boys. What little boy doesn't love bugs? Mine certainly do! They get great joy out of finding creepy crawlies outside and bringing them in to show me lol. They love to sit and go through the book looking at the pictures, my 7 year old reads the bug facts to my 5 year old, and then they go on the hunt. Just not for bees. Huge bee fear with both boys. The pictures are big and detailed and each page has a lot of facts about each bug. Very fun and educational at the same time.

World Book carries a variety of products from books, to digital products, for ages from kindergarten to adult. You will find just what you need for any research project, or just for fun educational books. I highly recommend every parent checks out this company!

  5. This is great! My son's just an infant, but I'll be teaching him to read in a couple of years. I need to start collecting books for him.

  10. All three of my boys would love these books as well. Sounds like I have to check out World Book and see what other books they have to supplement our homeschool library. Thanks for the heads-up!
