The Selection

Summary- For thirty-five girls, the Selection is the chance of a lifetime. The opportunity to escape the life laid out for them since birth. To be swept up in a world of glittering gowns and priceless jewels. To live in a palace and compete for the heart of gorgeous Prince Maxon.
But for America Singer, being Selected is a nightmare. It means turning her back on her secret love with Aspen, who is a caste below her. Leaving her home to enter a fierce competition for a crown she doesn't want. Living in a palace that is constantly threatened by violent rebel attacks.
Then America meets Prince Maxon. Gradually, she starts to question all the plans she's made for herself—and realizes that the life she's always dreamed of may not compare to a future she never imagined.

My Rating-

My Review- The first thing I want to say about this book is that I absolutely loved the cover! I read a few reviews of this book that called it a watered down version of The Hunger Games. I do admit that there are some parallels but it is not the same. As a matter of fact the thought in my mind when I read this was that this would be the capitals version of The Hunger Games. This story is set in a dystopian future but focuses almost solely on the monarchy's view of the world rather than the lower castes. There is some rebel action, some cat fights and a truly sweet blossoming romance in the midst of a love triangle that will pull at your heart strings. Just enough of everything to keep every reader happy and engaged in the story.

  1. It looks like a must read to me! I've added it to my wish list!

  2. Hey Jenn why don't you run a giveaway with this. It can be for the copy! I loved this book to and can't wait till next year when book 2 comes out~
