Legion of Bats Review

Summary-

In a world governed by fear and corruption, a baby was born and immediately targeted for death. Hidden away in the rural West Virginia town of Tanner, Zoe Masterson grows up feeling like an outsider just a little different from everyone around her. As bad becomes worse, she is arrested for arson and taken to a mental hospital, where she discovers nothing is as it seems.

My Rating-

My Review-

This story takes off at breakneck speed from the first page. I instantly found myself relating to the main character Zoe. Her quick wit keeps everyone on their toes and endears her to her new friends after years of feeling like an outsider. I loved the dynamics between Zoe and the other Endoweds at the "mental hospital". The growing love between Zoe and her Guardian Icarus is very sweet and endearing.I was also blown away by the anti hate message that was woven into this story. The action was amazing also. The story kept my attention all the way through and kept me up late reading to see what would happen next.

Favorite quote from the book.

Abigail stood at that podium and said proudly, “We are all conscious of our own self and those around us. The ability to decide our life, as well as our death is ours. We can see our present, and what could be the future. So much power lies in our hands. Are we going to use that power to create a beautiful world or use it to destroy happiness and let ugliness fill the earth? We can choose to love one another or to hate. Hate is a very underestimated emotion. It’s infectious.

“No matter what mask hate hides behind, it’s wrong. Hate blends itself well within many things such as religion, envy, pride, fear, impatience, cowardliness, and anger. It mocks us and insists that we are not our best. In this life I choose to love; what choice will you make?
