This is a weekly meme in which each week the Host will ask a reading related question and we answer with our thoughts.

Ever read a book you thought you could have written better yourself?

Honestly no. I am an avid avid reader and i would never delude myself into thinking i could come anywhere close to the talent that I see in the books I read. I'm much more comfortable just sitting back and relaxing and enjoying the stories that come from all the author's hard work.

Don’t forget to leave a link to your actual response (so people don’t have to go searching for it) in the comments—or if you prefer, leave your answers in the comments themselves!

  1. Ive read a few books that were so bad I did think i could have wrote it better. However I know i would be a failure if i tried. I agree id rather be on the receiving end of awesomeness!!!

    My BTT

  2. Me too!! I'd much rather be the reader and not the writer.
    Here's My BTT

  3. As a writer (not published yet...trying to get there) It's hard, very hard. You're constantly thinking, "Does this sentence sound right? Did I end that chapter well? Are readers actually going to read this?" We think those thoughts on a daily basis. Constantly editing, re-writing, removing...It's quite hilarious what the writing process is like. Now as an avid reader, I like to stick to fiction, because some of those self-help books are ridiculous!

  4. Being on the receiving end is better for me too, but now and then I'd like to be on the editing end.

  5. I don't think I am a very good writer. so no. I have so little time to read now, I will stop books before I finish them if I don't like them. I didn't use to do that.

  6. YESSSS!!! Some times I cringe :)
